1. Log in
Open Vallkey and log in with your email, master password and Secret Key, or create an account. Your Secret Key is kept in the device’s keychain.
2. Turn on Face ID or Touch ID
Under Account, turn on Unlock with Face ID (or Touch ID). From then on Vallkey opens with your face or finger.
AutoFill needs this. It never asks for your master password, because a password typed into a sheet over another app is one more place to be tricked out of it.
3. Turn on AutoFill
Under Account, choose AutoFill, and follow it to the system’s settings to pick Vallkey for passwords and passkeys.
Then, in Safari or in any app:
- Tap a sign-in field. Vallkey’s logins for that place show above the keyboard.
- Tap one, and confirm with Face ID. Vallkey fills the username and password, or a one-time code.
- To use a login saved for somewhere else, search for it. Vallkey asks you to confirm it belongs there before it fills.
Passkeys
When a site or app offers a passkey, the system’s own sheet asks where to keep it: choose Vallkey. Signing in later works the same way, with Face ID before anything is signed.
New accounts
On iOS 26.2 and later, Vallkey suggests a strong password on sign-up forms and saves the new login as you fill it in.
Vallkey for Safari
The app also carries Vallkey for Safari, the browser extension, with the menu under fields and the full popup.
- In Settings, open Apps, then Safari, then Extensions.
- Turn on Vallkey, and allow it on all websites.
- In Safari, open the page menu beside the address, choose Vallkey, and log in there.
The extension keeps a vault of its own, as in every browser, so it’s logged in separately from the app.
Moving items to and from another app
On iOS 26, apps can hand passwords and passkeys to each other without a file. In Vallkey, Export, then Credential Exchange, has Send to an app instead…. To bring items in, pick Vallkey in the other app’s export sheet.
What the system is told
So that suggestions can show while Vallkey is locked, the system keeps a list of each login’s username and websites, and each passkey’s website. Never a password, a code or a key. Suggest logins above the keyboard, under Account, AutoFill, turns the list off and empties it.
