1. Create your account
In any Vallkey app, choose New account. Enter your email address and a master password you’ll remember. A long phrase of a few unrelated words works well.
Vallkey creates your Secret Key on this device. You’ll need it, with your master password, to sign in on a new device.
2. Save your Secret Key
Vallkey shows your Secret Key once, and asks you to confirm you’ve kept it. Write it down, or print your Emergency Kit from Account › Recovery code and Emergency Kit, and keep it somewhere safe, away from your devices.
3. Set up a recovery code
In the same place, make a recovery code. If you ever forget your master password, it lets you choose a new one. Vallkey can’t reset it for you: it never knows it.
4. Bring your passwords
Choose Import, and pick the file you exported from your old password manager. Vallkey shows what it will bring before anything changes. See Importing.
5. Install it everywhere
Get the browser extension, the desktop app and the phone app from the download page. Sign in with your email, master password and Secret Key. After that, each device unlocks with your face, fingerprint, Windows Hello or your master password.
