Moving password managers is a chore, and companies know it. On 27 March 2026, 1Password raised its individual plan from $35.88 to $47.88 a year.
Our promise
While your subscription continues, its price doesn’t go up. It’s a clause in our terms, not a marketing line, and each subscription keeps its own price in our billing system, which a later, higher price never replaces.
How we can afford it
- One core for every app keeps engineering costs down.
- Most people use the Free plan, which costs us little: your vault is small, encrypted text.
- New subscribers pay the price of the day they join. If costs rise, prices for new subscribers can rise; yours doesn’t.
And if you leave?
Export everything, any time, in open formats. That’s the other half of the promise: we keep you by being worth it, not by making it hard to go.
