Keys
Your own API domain
Call Vallkey at your own address, such as api.yourcompany.com.
Let your apps call Vallkey at your own address, such as https://api.yourcompany.com, with the same ghost keys: useful for firewall allow-lists and security reviews. Pro includes 1 domain, Team 3 and Business 10.
- Under Settings → API domains, add a subdomain you own. Root domains such as
yourcompany.comcannot point elsewhere with a CNAME. - Add the two records Vallkey shows where your DNS is managed: a
CNAMEtocustomers.vallkey.com, and aTXTrecord at_vallkey.your domain, which proves it is yours. The page names your DNS provider and shows where to click, and checks the records by itself. - The certificate is issued within minutes. Send a test request through the domain from the same page, then make it your default address.
A domain only carries your own account's ghost keys. Every key works through every address, Vallkey's and all your domains, including domains you add later. To limit a key to some of them, choose Only some in its Addresses rule.
| What the page says | What to do |
|---|---|
| The CNAME points to another host | Change the CNAME's value to customers.vallkey.com. |
| Proxied by Cloudflare | In Cloudflare DNS, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud). |
| Only some authorities may issue certificates | Add the CAA records shown, which allow letsencrypt.org and pki.goog. |
| Used by another account | Another account proved the domain first. Write to support from your account email if it is yours. |
| Needs attention | A record was removed or changed, or the certificate could not renew. The page names the record to fix. |
